The oil contains 45-65% linoleic acid (C18: 2) and 1% rare eicosadienoic acid (C20: 2). This extract also contains over 5% of essential oil, consisting mainly of thymoquinone, cymene, thujone, carvacrol, thymohydroquinone, etc. The content of thymoquinone in the extract is over 3% (quantified by HPLC).
